Sigh...

70% chance it won't snow lightly tonight.  30% chance it will.  What do you think?  It feels cold enough.

Are you coming over tomorrow evening to have pulled pork tacos?  They aren't spicy or hot.  Just yummy.  And being the stupid brush pile is way too wet to burn (according to Stephen) we will have the firepit fired up.. on the deck.  I was so looking forward to the bonfire.  My plans never work out.

How's HayLee's cold?  Must be better if she's looking forward to her time in the limelight tonight.  How are you, Nic?  Haven't heard from you in ages.

Karen says to say howdy to the two of you.

Another day

Miss our chats like crazy.  Makes the day go faster.
What's up in your neck of the woods?  We're looking forward to Saturday.  I aked HayLee but never got an answer.... pulled pork sandwiches or pulled pork tacos?  Bring your appetites.  I'm guessing you will be over around the 5 or 6 o'clock hour.  Dark comes pretty early.
Will be earlier next week... the dratted "Fall Back" will be a week from this coming Sunday.  Yeah, the first Sunday in November.  I think it changes back the first Sunday in April..either that or the last Sunday in March.  I haven't looked at the calendar to see which yet.

And... get this.  Cable techs came out.  They changed something outside the house.  Then came in and told us our analog tvs aren't compatible to the new FiOS system.  Neither is my "ancient" computer.  Like who can afford to go replacing such items??  Are they going to give away new tvs and laptops for us that are outdated???  With the prices cable and internet service has gone, they should be able to give every last one of their customers the new up-to-date tvs and computers.  Sigh.

Wet Saturday ... yay us

Stephen had Prayer Breakfast with Cecil this morning. Had to get him up at 6 so he’d be ready to leave at 7. He got home around 10.
While he was gone, I got the previlege of catching up the dishes… translated: wash what I couldn’t fit in the dishwasher. Aren’t I the lucky one?
Dr Kraus told us Thursday that we won’t be able to give Leora the quality of care she needs pretty soon. She needs 24/7 care and supervision. She doesn’t remember where the bathroom is..she says she’s never been to the one in this new house. She doesn’t want to sleep in “that” room. She wants to sleep in her own room. We don’t know where she thinks her room is if it isn’t the one she’s slept in for the past 5 years.
Had to call the ambulance for her Wednesday night. She was unresponsive for us and the EMTs. They said she was too hot. They hauled her to the hospital. Stephen wasn’t happy having to get up and dressed at midnight so we could go down there and find out what was going on. After 3 hours, it was decided she has that MERSA like infection in her bladder again. Back to 10 days of Cipro. At least they didn’t say 10 days of 2 times a day IV at the hospital. Whew. Cipro gives her the runs so the bathroom is off limits to Stephen and me for showers or going to the bathroom. We have to hurry if we want in. Sigh.
Donna says she thinks Pete and she are going to be coming up maybe after Christmas instead of February. We’ll see. She didn’t believe what Stephen and I told her on the phone Thursday afternoon.. she called Dr Kraus and talked to her. Guess that’s why she moved the date up to come up. She definitely doesn’t want Leora going into a home up here.
I did get a call from the cardiologist’s office Friday evening. The test for the cancer was “good” and no cancer flags were in the urine. Yay. I needed good news. Less worry for HayLee.
So that’s what’s been happening here. Same old crap. lol.

Hello????

No sun.  Cloudy.  Boring.  Typical Monday.  Tomorrow if the sun comes out, Stephen is going to try to mow the back lawn and run the tractor low, low, low on gas so it can be stored for the winter.  The grass will be wet but he might pick up a few cherry leaves.  I am so glad that the maple tree is gone!  That thing sure dropped a ton of leaves.
Guess Jennifer won't be having her daughter on Nov 28th.  The doctor told her the baby would be delivered at 37 weeks.  Somewhere mid-November if not before.  Wonder if their counting was wrong?  I never got preggers so I don't know how they figure out due dates.  Never cared much to learn about it.
Wednesday the insurance fellow is coming at 9 to talk to us about our health insurance for next year.  And then the fellow is coming to clean the chimney.  Yay.  Cleaning the chimney for the first time since we moved in.  Hope the chimney itself doesn't fall apart.  You know our luck.

Another long day

Already Thursday about half way through the month.  So looking forward to the bonfire.  Be something different and fun for a change.
Leora is doing about the same.  She got the bathroom and her bedroom mixed up.  That made for a few tense moments, trying to get her turned around.  She's not happy with the clean sheets and blankets on her bed.  But we fear she is stashing her dirty disposable undies under her bed rather than put them in the garbage can in her room or the one in the bathroom.  I thought that by washing her bedding, the stink would stop.  The room reeks and will until I can figure out where she has those stinky things crammed.
She said she took a shower this morning.  Yeah, right.  She might have gotten into the shower but didn't bother to wash herself.  Stephen was half sick when I went in to take my lobster woman shower.  She had wiped her butt on a light pink towel and hung it up over the shower door.  Nothing like a couple of brown racing stripes against pink to turn one's stomach.  Guess who got the privilege of putting the towels in the washer with a big dose of bleach?  Sure wasn't Stephen.
I did ask her what she's doing with her disposables and she said she puts them in the garbage can.  I asked then if she was changing them like she's supposed to.  She just glared at me.  Come on, there were two pair in the can for 2 weeks worth of garbage.  Not one pair in the kitchen or bathroom garbage.  She really must treasure her stink.
I don't know if what she's doing is the dementia or if she thinks it makes her look so frail and elderly and people will do more for her.  Stephen has told her over and over that if she can't take care of herself, she'll have to be put in a home.  Which I'm afraid is where she is headed when she goes visiting in February.  I can't see Donna and Pete putting up with a stinky bedroom and a filthy bathroom.  Do I advise Donna to get white sheets, towels, etc so they can be  bleached?  Or let her find out on her own?
How are things in Sandpoint? I check with your blogs to see if anything is going on.  Ain't much happening in Oldtown.  Same old $h!t day in and day out.

Sigh

It's below freezing at 9:30 in the morning.  Brrrrr.  Isn't it a little early for the frost to be here?  No, I haven't lit a fire.  Sent Leora back to bed until Stephen decides to get up.  Don't know when that will be.  He usually crawls out of the sack around 9.

Had a time with Leora last night.  She wanted a pencil to write something down.  Stephen found her an ink pen and she wrote "Oldtown"  "Orders"  on an old Family Food sales paper.  Have no idea what that means or what it's for.  Then she took it and hid it in her bedroom so we wouldn't be able to see what she wrote.

This morning she isn't any better.  She wants to be an @$$ today.  Guess she stayed up with her secrets last night.  In a way, February is way too far away.

Did talk with the doctor yesterday and she said that it is going to get worse as the winter progresses.  Anxiety causes her to act like a complete idiot.  Nice to know but that doesn't help us cope with her and her weird, stupid actions.

Where's the sun?  It's supposed to be sunny and warm today.  Not the low, low clouds/fog and freezy cold.  lol.

How was Dempsy's last night?

So much for getting up at 7....

Stephen said he wanted to get an early start on the pile of wood and get it put away before it starts raining again and to go pay the two local bills.  He's still in bed and it's after 9.  Guess he's in a different time zone.

Leora hasn't gotten up to go to the bathroom either.  That's not her usual routine.  She usually goes in there for 10 minutes, comes out and turns around and goes back.  She forgot she already has been in there forever.  lol

Supposed to start getting nippy at night.  Guess it's that time of the year.  We haven't had our first good freeze yet and here it is October.

What's happening in your neck of the woods?

HayLee, good luck tonight.

Long, long day

We got all the wood up off the front yard.  One cord is split and stacked.  We have the second one to split and stack.  Going to take forever to get it done... these are huge pieces of tree.  And not seasoned wood as promised.  Lots of pitch in the logs.

Stephen has a dr appt at 11:30 in Spokane.  Sigh.  Oh well, will give me more "knot tying" time.  Stephen wants his afghan so badly it's not funny.  I'll get it done before full winter.

Waiting patiently for Stephen to watch his 9 o'clock show.  And it's not even 8 yet.  Sheesh.  Has time stopped moving?

Gonna be a long Saturday....

I conked out about midnight, woke up at 2 and finally got up at 5:30.  Tired of listening to everybody snore.  lol.
It was raining at 5:30 but looks like it's clearing up at 8.  Guess we go out and clear the French drains today to get ready for winter.  Yay us.
Hope to see you some day soon.  Miss gabbing with you both.  Would love to have bbq and share with you.  Still have the pork ribbies and cobbets waiting for a feasty.  Let me know ahead of time so we can thaw the meat and pre-cook it so it will be tender and yummy.
Don't know which of the two blogs you read so I post to both.
